Apply Schedules
The Apply Schedules feature pulls in shifts for staff with fixed schedules or rotations for the position(s) currently being viewed.
Example:
If you’re viewing CNAs on the schedule and click Apply Schedules, it will automatically create shifts for all CNAs with fixed schedules or rotations in the selected date range.
Best Practices:
Make sure each staff member has their schedule entered correctly in their profile before applying.
Use this feature only when initially creating the schedule — typically once every 4–6 weeks for each position.

Publish
After applying schedules, optimizing open shifts, or manually adding shifts, those shifts will remain in an unpublished state (shown with a grey “candy cane” pattern). These unpublished shifts are not visible to staff in the Veras app.
To make them visible, use the Publish button.
How it works:
Like Apply Schedules, publishing only applies to the position(s) you are currently viewing on the schedule.
You can choose to publish:
Once published, staff will see their schedules and open shifts in the app.
Note: If Auto-Publish is enabled, shifts are automatically published as changes are made, so you won’t need to use the Publish button manually. Auto-Publish can be enabled within the advanced section of your Community settings page.
