Why "Scheduled Elsewhere" appears
There are three reasons a shift shows this label. Each one has a different fix.
The shift is in a different position
The Position selector in the top-left of the schedule page controls which positions you're viewing. If a staff member is scheduled for a position you don't have selected — for example, they have a CNA shift but you only have MT selected — that shift shows as Scheduled Elsewhere and can't be edited.
Fix: Open the Position selector and add the position that shift belongs to. You can select multiple positions at once.
The shift is in a different department
The shift belongs to a department other than the one you're currently viewing. You can see the shift on this staff member's row, but you can only edit it from that department's schedule.
Fix: Use the Department dropdown in the top-left corner to switch to the department that owns the shift. If you don't have access to that department's schedule, contact that department's Scheduler or Administrator to request the change.

The shift is at a different facility
The staff member is scheduled at another facility during that same time. Veras doesn't allow edits across facilities — each facility's schedule is managed separately.
Fix: Log in to the other facility's Veras account and make the change there. If you don't have access, contact a Scheduler or Administrator at that facility.
Common questions
Q: Can I move a "Scheduled Elsewhere" shift from this view?
A: No. You can only edit a shift from the schedule where it lives — the position, department, or facility that owns it. Find that schedule and make the change there.
Q: Why can I see the shift at all if I can't edit it?
A: Veras shows the shift so you know the staff member is already scheduled somewhere during that time. It's there to prevent accidental double-booking, not to suggest you can change it from here.
Q: I switched to the right department but the shift still shows as "Scheduled Elsewhere." What's wrong?
A: The shift may belong to a different position that isn't selected in your Position selector, even within that department. Check that the correct position is selected. If it still won't open, it may belong to a different facility entirely.
