Edit Shifts

In this article, we'll show you how you can make edits and adjustments to shifts on your schedule.

Updated over a month ago

Shifts don’t always stay the same—Veras makes it easy to edit them when changes arise. From reassigning workers to modifying times, positions, or incentives, you have full control over keeping schedules accurate and up to date.

To edit a shift:

1. First, go to the Schedule tab.

2. Find the shift you'd like to edit and click on it. When the modal appears, select the pencil icon to open the edit options.

Within the edit view, you can add/change:

  • Shift status – Choose whether the shift is saved as a draft or published.

  • Position – Update the position assigned to the shift.

  • Assigned worker – Reassign the shift to a different worker if needed. You can also unassign the shift.

  • Shift template – Select from existing templates or create a custom timeframe. If you create a custom timeframe, you’ll be asked whether it should be linked to a specific template.

  • Date – Change the date of the shift.

  • Areas – Add one or more areas, or remove areas if they are no longer needed.

  • Shift incentives ($) – Add an incentive for the shift. Incentives can be tracked later in Analytics.

  • Notes – Enter any details or instructions for the shift. You can also select from a list of notes you've previously used. Notes will be visible to staff when viewing their shifts on the app.

  • History – View a record of when edits were made and who made them.

After making your desired changes, don't forget to click the Save button!
