Adding/Editing Shift Templates

This article will go over how to add shift segments to help build your schedule

Creating recurring shift times allows you to efficiently build and manage employee schedules. By establishing these consistent shift patterns, you can streamline the scheduling process, saving time and ensuring consistency. Here is how to get started!


Step by Step Instructions

1. Go to Settings on the left side of the screen

2. Click on Positions then select the Department and the Position for which you want to add a template

3. Click on + Shift to add a new template

4. Complete the form by specifying the Name, Start time, End time, and any Breaks, for the template

5. You can choose to Automatically apply schedule and select what day you would like this occur each month. This will auto create next months shifts.

7. Press Save and the shift template will be added


How to Edit Existing Shift Templates

If you need to update an existing shift template, such as adjusting the start or end time or modifying breaks, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings on the left side of the screen.

  2. Click on Positions, then select the appropriate Department and Position.

  3. Click on the shift template you want to edit.

  4. You can update the following fields:

    • Shift Template Name

    • Start and End Time

    • Breaks

  5. Press Save to apply the changes.

Once saved, Veras will automatically update all scheduled shifts using that template moving forward. Existing shifts in the past will remain unchanged.
