Keeping every staff license and certification current is hard to track one profile at a time. The Credentials page shows all your team's credentials in one list, so you can spot what's expiring, set requirements, and check compliance at a glance.
Before you start
You need permission to manage your team to open the Credentials page. If you don't see Credentials in the sidebar, ask an Administrator to update your role — see How to Manage User Permissions.
Find the Credentials page in the left sidebar, under Manage.
Note: The Credentials page shows every staff member's credentials in one list. You can also view and add one person's credentials on their profile, from the Team page — the two stay in sync.
Open the Credentials page and read the list
Open the Credentials page and read the list
The Credentials page lists every credential across your team, with its status and expiration date, so you don't have to open profiles one by one. If a staff member has no credentials on record, they won't appear here.
In the left sidebar, click Credentials.
Review the list. Each row shows the staff member, the credential, its expiration date, status, jurisdiction (the state the credential is held in), issuing body (the organization that issued it), license number, and any attachment.
Use the status tabs at the top to narrow the list — All, Compliant, Warning, or Non-compliant.
The list updates to show only the credentials in the tab you picked. The number next to each tab is how many credentials fall under it.
What each status means
Each credential carries a status, and the tabs group those statuses so you can see what needs attention.
Compliant- The credential is valid, or no requirement is set for it (shown as Not required). Nothing to act on.
Warning- The credential needs attention soon — it is Expiring soon, Needs Verification, or in a Grace Period.
Non-compliant- The credential has expired or is missing, so the staff member does not meet the requirement.
Search and filter the list
Search and filter the list
Use search and filters to find one person's credential or narrow the list to a credential type.
To find a staff member, type their name in the Search box.
To narrow the list another way, click Filters.
In the Filters panel, filter by Credential, Jurisdiction, or Issuing body. You can also choose to show archived staff and archived credentials.
The list shows only the credentials that match your search and filters.
Manage a credential from the list
Manage a credential from the list
Every row has a three-dot menu (the ⋮ icon) with the same actions you'd use on a staff member's profile.
Find the credential in the list and click its three-dot menu (the ⋮ icon on the right of the row).
Choose an action: Edit credential, Re-verify credential, View credential history, or Archive credential.
The action opens in a window. Note: Archiving a credential removes it from active use but does not delete it — the record and its history are kept, and you can bring it back later. Archiving a credential is different from archiving a staff member, which removes the person from active scheduling.
Set a credential requirement
Set a credential requirement
A requirement tells Veras which credential a staff member must hold. Veras then checks their submitted credentials against it and flags anyone who is missing, expired, or unverified.
In the top-right, click the three-dot menu (⋮), then click Add requirement.
Search for the staff member by name or phone, then click Next.
Choose the required credential from the Credential dropdown.
In Accepted jurisdictions, add the states the credential can be held in.
In Accepted issuing bodies, add the organizations you'll accept the credential from.
To allow extra time before a missing credential counts against the staff member, turn on Grace period and set the number of days.
To require someone to re-confirm the credential on a schedule, turn on Reverification frequency and set the number of days.
Click Save.
The requirement appears on the Credentials page. Until the staff member submits a matching credential, their row shows a Grace period or Non-compliant status so you can follow up.
Add a credential for a staff member
Add a credential for a staff member
When a staff member is missing a credential, you can add it for them without leaving the Credentials page.
Click the staff member's row to open their profile panel.
Under Credentials, click Add credential.
Choose the credential from the Credential dropdown.
Enter the License number.
Set the Status — most credentials you add are Active.
Set the Expiration date.
Choose the Jurisdiction.
Choose the Issuing body.
To attach a scan or photo of the credential, upload a PNG, JPG, or PDF under Attachment.
Click Save.
The credential is saved to the staff member's profile, and its status updates on the Credentials page.
Download the credentials list
Download the credentials list
Export the full list as a CSV file — useful for an audit or for sharing with someone who doesn't use Veras.
In the top-right, click the three-dot menu (⋮).
Click Download.

Veras downloads the credentials list as a CSV file to your computer.
Credentials Pro: auto-verification and policies
Credentials Pro: auto-verification and policies
Auto-verification and credential policies are part of Credentials Pro, a paid add-on. Auto-verification checks credentials against licensure registries for you, and credential policies let you define required credentials by department, position, and care level.
In the top-right three-dot menu (⋮).
Click Credential policies to open the Credentials Pro window.
Click Request access.
A member of the Veras team follows up with you about turning on Credentials Pro.
Common questions
Q: Who can see and manage the Credentials page?
A: Anyone with permission to manage your team. If you don't see Credentials in the sidebar, an Administrator can update your role — see How to Manage User Permissions.
Q: What's the difference between the Credentials page and the credentials on a staff member's profile?
A: The Credentials page is one list of everyone's credentials, built for tracking compliance across your team. A staff member's profile shows and edits just that one person's credentials. A change you make in either place shows up in the other.
Q: What do Compliant, Warning, and Non-compliant mean?
A: Compliant means the credential is valid or not required. Warning means it needs attention soon — expiring, needs verification, or in a grace period. Non-compliant means it has expired or is missing, so the staff member does not meet the requirement.
Q: What is a credential requirement?
A: A requirement is the credential you say a staff member must hold. Veras checks their submitted credentials against it and flags anyone who is missing, expired, or unverified. Set one from the top-right three-dot menu (⋮) under Add requirement.
Q: What does a grace period do?
A: A grace period gives a staff member a set number of days to submit a required credential before it counts against them as non-compliant. You turn it on and set the days when you create the requirement.
Q: Can I export the credentials list?
A: Yes. Open the top-right three-dot menu (⋮) and click Download to save the list as a CSV file.
Q: What is Credentials Pro?
A: Credentials Pro is a paid add-on that adds auto-verification (checking credentials against licensure registries automatically) and credential policies (required credentials by department, position, and care level). Click Request access in the Credentials Pro window and the Veras team will follow up.
